Vaishnavi Chetlapalli
I am a traditional Kuchipudi (dance form from southern India). I have been learning from the age of 3. I have performed on various stages including Indian Science Congress in India. I have won many state level awards. I have been teaching from the past few years. It has been a great pleasure for me to teach and pass down this legacy of great Kuchipudi gurus, including my gurus; my mother who is my first teacher and Dr. Sita Prasad who taught me to be an artist.
I have been teaching dance form the last 6 years. After coming to Hobart, I was given many opportunities to perform by Indian community, University of Tasmania, and Salamanca Arts Center (SAC). I also got a chance to conduct my own workshop by SAC, which I absolutely loved because I got to meet many people who wanted to learn something new.
