Amy Brown
I am a practising Hobart photographer and emerging film maker. I am currently working on a collaborative project with fellow artist Catherine Morse that we have called The /Sound Of\ Project. In this project we aim at creating relationships between children from differing backgrounds and cultures through sound, drawing, painting and stop-motion animation. We have just finished our first series of films through the 'Drawings for Gaza' workshop series. The films were sent over to Palestine, narrated into the local Arabic dialect by children there and were shown this past weekend in collaboration with the Gaza Children's Cinema and the Tamar Institute. My vision is to see this basic model used to foster relationships and understanding in kids across boarders, cultures and place.
